This is the Signed unique original Pen & Ink Wash by Enric Badia Romero.A peaceful Modesty talks on the phone to confidant and partner in action Willie Garvin from her hotel room.
This strip highlights the diversity of Romero's inking techniques. There are some lovely instances of dry brushing among the many effects used in the panels.
Peppered with Romero's unmistakable brush strokes and heavily signed by the artist in the first panel, this strip also features a close up portrait of Modesty in the final panel.
This strip is number 7587 of the Modesty Blaise series and was published in 1991. It forms part of the story 'Walk-About', set in Australia.
Enric Badia Romero has drawn more Modesty Blaise strips than any other of the Modesty Blaise artists, and is also responsible for the extremely popular strip AXA.
Modesty Blaise was Peter O'Donnell's most famous literary creation and has appeared in many popular novels and newspaper strips for nearly 40 years.
The strip has been kept in the artists' personal collection for over 30 years and is being made available for the first time.
