This is the unique original Watercolour painting by Andrew Howat.

The illustration depicts the moment when Police, acting on a tip-off, discover the Goya portrait of the Duke of Wellington at the left luggage office at Birmingham railway station. It had been stolen from the National Gallery in 1961 and the tip-off came in 1965.

Later an unemployed taxi driver confessed to walking into the National Gallery and stuffing the painting into his overcoat when no-one was watching. As the painting was retrieved minus the frame the man was jailed for three months for stealing the frame.
