Description: One of the original watercolour paintings commissioned for a children's illustrated edition of Kenneth Grahame's classic story The Wind in the Willows. Published in 1983, the book is filled with Philip Mendoza's superb art illustrating the adventures in Wild Wood of Rat, Mole, Toad, Badger and their friends.
This painting is from page 10 of the book and shows Rat and Mole preparing for a trip on the river.
