This is the Signed original Pen & Ink Wash by Fortunino Matania.

Illustration from part five of the serial "Convict Captain" published 11th February 1939. Probably an adaptation of The Convict Captain: Or, the Battles of the Buccaneers: A Romance of Thrilling Mystery Afloat and Ashore by P. Ingraham 1886. A superb action piece by the master of pen and ink wash, here taking a more dynamic subject than usual.
